Itinerary description
This is not an easy hike
Take walking sticks and good shoes
Water and a lot of time
It is uphill from the get-go and then uphill after that
Did I mention uphill?
After about 400 meters of vertical ascend you are rewarded with a 3rd century monestsry for gents only - sorry ladies the Greek Orthodox Church has not quite caught up yet - and spectacular views
Only to repent on your 4 km back down
What a gorgeous hike in the spring!!!!

Thx for sharing, I did this trail as well and can confirm it is difficult. Walking sticks is a must especially down hill. I can't imagine doing this in the summer as the Cyprus heat is very extreme. Spring time is best for this adventure plus all the lavender are in full bloom, plus I saw blue bees. As far as the monastery goes, no females permitted however there is a small chapel onsite for female pilgrims if so desired
