Itinerary description
Started at Queralbs, all the way to Coma de Vaca Refugee. First part of the trail is very steep all the way uphill to Coma del Clot, we spend 1 hour here having lunch with the most scenic views. Continued through Camí dels Enginyers, set camp at around 12am (yes quite late) at la Trona de Guardiola. Next morning we arrived at the refugee were we got to refill our water bottles and rest before starting again. Went up through the base of Balandrau and back down via Coma de Vaca to Queralbs.
Difficult route which actually took us a lot more than expected (mainly the 1st day- 12 hours of hiking: 8h daylight and 4h at night which was a quite energizing, many animals and some past avalanches that damaged some part of the trail, so be very cautious). A side form the difficulty which I think is mainly due to the fact that we had to hike at night through a very dangerous part of the route, the hike has been one of the most beautiful I’ve done and I very Highly Recommend!! Just start really early ( around 6am ) so you can get to coma de vaca before night time.
Also a very starry night! :) And many curious and gravity defying cows lol.
