Itinerary description

Unexpectedly very long hike. Easy, beautiful... and really lonely (nobody in sight for over six hours)!

Took the bus 18 from Maspalomas to S. Bartolomé. Above the village (near the college) starts the path (camino de Santiago) to Cruz Grande, then turn left towards El Dinero. The signalisation is tricky here, ended up on top of Morro del Guirre (splendid panorama), turned back, the actual path is going down direction "Chira". Then for 4-5 kilometers on the flank/crest of the mountain until Degollada del Sordo, turn left for an additional 5k of small path on the mountain side. The path is clear enough, even without paint markings (follow the pyramids of stones). Montaña Alta, Montaña de los Palmitos, until you reach finally a first hamlet: Lomo Los Palmitos.

One more kilometer downhill, my map indicated a small road on the left reaching the Palmitos Park resort, 100m downhill, and its bus stop back to Maspalomas. But the street is barred "private property" with pretty dissuasive signs. I dont want to take the chance to end up eaten by dogs or shredded by barbed wires. Ok, I continue on the winding road (hardly any cars around). Six more kilometers to Montaña La Data, until I finally reached a bus stop (lines 45 and 70). Boring bit, I must admit. But overall it was a great day.
