Itinerary description

A very nice circuit walk out of Granada following Sacromonte Valley and returning on a fine mountain single trail. Walk along the paved Sacromonte access road (alternatively take Bus No. 35 until the end of the road) until you reach the dirt track. Continue for a few minutes and take the dirt road branching off on your right. Follow this road for a few hundred metres and then walk along the irrigation canal upstream. Soon you will come to a small bridge. Cross the bridge and follow the steep zig zag trail until you reach the well trodden mountain single trail. Follow this flat trail all the way back towards Granada and enjoy the spectecular views of the Albaicin and the valley below. Eventually the track becomes a dirt road gently rising toward the Silla del Moro (Castel above the Alhambra). From there a wide access road leads down to the upper parking area of Alhambra. Follow the main rain towards the main entrance of the Alhambra, pass the ticket office and take the right to where the Restaurant is. This is the beginning of the Cuesta del Rey Chico (old stone cobble acces road of Alhambra) which bring you to the end of the Paseo de los Tristes in the valley makin this a fine circular walk before or after your Alhambra visit.
