Itinerary description
This is an easy walk which starts below the impressive rock formation on which the Moorish castle was built and the old city is situated.
The first part is through the cultivated fields, with good views inland, to the Guadalfeo river.
From there a footpath/cycle track leads you to El Penon de Salobrena from which you will have beautiful views along the coast as well as inland.
The track continues along the coast to Caleta de la Guardia where, at the bottom of the rocks, a track starts, called Camino de Caleton. This part of the track might be dangerous and/or inaccessible if the sea is high, especially during strong winds.
The descent through the charming village of Caleta de la Guardia is very nice and the last part of the track will give you the imposing view again of the castle and the old city of Salobrena, perched on the rock.
