Itinerary description
A hiking route from San Ildefonso palace to Peñalara mountain and back. Doesn't include the mountain top, ends at the herders hut (marked as "Refugio" on the map). The way back has some sections of non-trail hiking. The trail (paved road even) starts again near the small river with "water" mark on the map. There's also a rather steep downhill between the road and the trail leading back to the palace gardens.
