Itinerary description
San Lorenzo de El Escorial is a nice area located in Sierra de Guadarrama. Is about 50km far from Madrid.
In this track, we started in our hotel (Hotel La Florida) and took the street on the right. Then we turned left when we saw the monastery (pic.1), and we surrounded it on the right. We continued by the sandway until the road, then we crossed it and continued straight until we saw a chapel on the right: then we took the way to go there and whenever is possible, we took a narrow sandway on the left. When we arrived to the main road, we turned left and continued. Whenever is possible, we took to the left, and continued by the way until a the road. We crossed it and continued by the right, until we saw Silla de Felipe II (pic.2). We continued by the way until we could go the right, then we finished in a fence where we took to the left. We arrived again to the road, we crossed it and took to the right whenever it was possible. We continued and when we saw the monastery, we surrounded it and took the first street on the left to come back to our hotel.
The way is steep and unpaved.
