Itinerary description
We got the E9 bus from El Clot in Barcelona to Sant Feliu de Codines. It took about 1 hour to arrive. From the town you follow the main road until you come to the first sign directing you to Sant Miquel del Fai. From here you can follow the red and white GR markers for the rest of the way.
It's a lovely hike through the forest and quite flat. You will come out onto a path that takes you along the edge of the valley with amazing views. Walk by the road a bit and you can stop to check out the Sant Miquel del Fai Monestary and the waterfall if you like.
Keep following the road past the bridge to the monestary and then you'll need to cross a little river and head up into the forest. It's hard to spot but there is a red and white marker. The trail goes up a bit before it heads back along the otherside of the valley with beautiful views back to the waterfall and monestary. The trail goes up hill a bit but nothing crazy.
You'll eventually come to 2 house one was a church and we took a short detour for lunch at an abandoned castle.
Head back up to the trail and walk along the cliff tops following the red and white markers. At one point you'll start heading down. It's quite steep and there are ropes to assist. If you take it slowly you should be okay. Then you'll follow the road down and into town. There's a little bar at the train station where you can have a well deserved beer.
