Itinerary description
An easy and very popular trail around the Montserrat Monastery and surrounding area.
The trail is 50% stairs-paved and 50% dirt trail, both well maintained, and most probably safe even in wet conditions. In my case it was sunny, and since it was Sunday there were at least another 500 people going up and down the trail (if not more), so solo hiking is also super safe here (as in my case). There is no chance to lose the trail and get lost.
The only note is that there is a considerable inclination to the hike (+500m in 4-5km) which is quite the exercise for unfit individuals, but not dangerous in any way. The way down is a blast. I went the CCW (counter clock wise) direction, though both should be fine. The scenery was beautiful!
It took me 1h 15m to go up, though 1,45-2h is more reasonable if you are taking it slow, and similar time for the way down (2h in my case - quite slow to enjoy the view).
Cell phone is bad in parts of the trail.
