Itinerary description
Fairly easy yet scenic trail that runs along a ridge along the lake with great views of all three volcanoes the whole way. A couple hills and a few spots where you have to scramble up or down rocks but generally ok for most.
Can be done in either direction (or both), and feels very different each way. From Tzununa to San Marcos it is another half-hour along a gravel road. Posada Jaibalito is a great place to stop along the way for a drink or excellent German food. Check out Routinely Nomadic for full descriptions of the 20 best Lake Atitlan hikes.

Great hike with spectacular views! One of the best hikes in Guatemala. The trail is very easy to follow. Just go in a group to avoid potential run ins with robbers (very low risk but best to be careful).
