Itinerary description

I took a 460 bus from Costa Adeje bus station. The journey is around 1 hour 15 minutes to bus stop Santiago del Teide T (4673). The path and entrance up the mountain has been closed due to major building works of a motorway tunnel. I eventually found one that had been made by previous hikers. It location is shown by TF82 on the road on the map next to Jaya la Mesa ravine. Also what3words website crumpet.unscathed.personal The path eventually joins the original route. I am not sure why the route didn't record correctly. The assent looks steep on the map. The path through the pine forest and brush zigzags its way through. On reaching the top if you are not frightened of heights visit the summit Risco Verde which over looks Masca. I found it scary. The descent to Masca is a gentle decline with great views. On reaching Masca I took a taxi which had just dropped off tourist. It cost 10 euro back to my bus stop in Santiago del Teide where there are two bar / restaurant. I would grade this route 5 out of 5.
