Itinerary description
From Valle de Arriba follow Calle San Fernando Rey and drive to Santuario Virgen and park. Follow the track PR-TF 43.3 towards Chinyero for a short distance though walled fig/almond plots. Where the TF 43.3 departs to you right carry on up the hill to reach and cross Canal de Vergara.
On the way to the right is the lava flow from Chinyero heading towards but never reaching Santiago del Teide.
Then Turn left to join a 4-wheel drive track (pista canal de Vergara), follow with wonderful views eventually reaching the pine trees. The canal has metal opening hatches where one can get refreshed in the lovely cold, clear water. The track emerges from the pine woods to the right of black Volcan Arenas Negras. the Track and canal flow through the col and back into the pine trees.
When Another Car / 4-wheel track is reached a left turn down this track (BC 1.12) reaches a picnic / recreation area and the path then goes through the picnic area to make a turn back to cross the Volcan Arenas Negras lava flow at a lower level.
Then a pine forest is reached and followed through. GPS is advised here as there are many unmarked tracks. However OpenstreetMap shows all the tracks. Eventually the PR-TF 43.1 is reached and crossed over to go around Montana de la Quebrada and eventually emerging from the forest near Las Gaviotas. A bit further on a detour can be made to the Caserio Los Partidos, a pretty bar built out of volcanic stone - well worth a visit. After refreshment the route returns through more plots of fig and almonds to the car.

Hike muy variado, gracias por compartir. Lo hemos hecho con un grupo de 18 personas de niveles diferentes y todo salió muy bien. Se puede hacer en MTB también creo.
