Itinerary description
NOT FOR INEXPERIENCED HIKERS. A long day >10 hour day with lots of elevation gain (group of 8 moving at a good pace) - I suggest planning for 9-10 hours for safety.
Expect lots bushbashing, scrambling and short climbs up/down/around and over. The fires through Barney have made following trails more difficult so good navigation skill are essential. GPS can sometimes be a little inaccurate. VERY steep up/down scrambling over loose ground in many places.

Awesome views along Savages Ridge towards Mt Barney West Peak, Mt Ernest and Mt Lindsay.
Tempting views of many other mountains and Peaks such as Barrajum Peak, Gwyalla Peak, Leaning Peak, Midget Ridge... etc.
