Itinerary description
Note the GPS lost signal and extended the kms. Its actually only 11km.
Day three of the 47km Scenic Rim Trail takes you from Castle View across to Banshee Walkers Camp. I found this 11km trail very enjoyable after the previous day of following a road for 15km. Within 1km you arrive at the Mt Castle Lookout, with great views north. From here, you join a wonderful, undulating trail which weaves it way between the rain forest, along the top of the escarpment to Sylvesters Lookout, where you gaze out across the Fassifern Valley and peaks of the Scenic Rim. Next, head down a very beautiful section of the walk to Dalrymple Creek, which is an amazing place to relax and enjoy the rock pools and small waterfalls. At this point you then join the Cascade Circuit which will take you along a pretty cascading creek and up the adjacent range. Its not far now till the end of the days journey at Banshee Camp. This camp is nestled in amongst plantation Chinese Fir trees. There are 4 elevated wooden platforms to pitch your tents here, a toilet and tank water (with bonus- wrigglers).
