Itinerary description

Sea to Sea is one of the classic Israeli hikes and one of the most beautiful. The hike starts at the Mediterranean sea near Achziv camping site and follows several Galilean streams (most prominent of which are Kziv and Amud) up to the summit of Meron mountain and then down to the shore Kinneret (a.k.a. the sea of Galilee). The hike can be done in 4 or 3 days and is best to do during the early spring (when the weather is not yet hot, everything is still green and the days are long enough). This is a description of a 3-day hike. At the end of each day there is a place to fill water, so you don't have to carry a lot of water with you (3-4 liters per person should be enough).

Day 3: This is the best day of the hike - it goes through the most beautiful scenery and is relatively easy (goes only downhill). The trail follows the Amud stream (in the end you will understand why it is called so, Amud means "pillar" in hebrew). Note that it will get increasingly hotter as you go down from the mountains to the valley, it will become most prominent in the bottom part of the stream where it feels like a wet sauna. Towards the end you will have a choice to either follow the Israeli National Trail to Migdal village or to take a shortcut to an unofficial beach near Ginosar (I took a shortcut, the beach there is very small and might get crowded, so beware).
