Itinerary description
Starting out from the recreation area above Sedella, cross over the chain leading up the forestry track.
Take a right turn at the T junction & continue up to the top of the track.
Look for a track off to the left of the path for La Maroma.
This then leads up to a ridge at around 1200 m. This first part takes approx 1 hr 30 mins.
The track then descends to the right through lots of gorse etc. Long trousers are recommended for this part!
As you ascend on the other side of the valley, you meet up with a good track coming up from El Saltillo.
It takes approx 1 hr 20 to rise till the top of the track which meets the path from Canaillas de Aceituno to La Maroma.
Take a left to descend to the village of Canaillas de Aceituno. This takes just over 1 hour.
As you drop down into the town, there's a marked track off to the left for El Saltillo. It takes approx 1 hour to reach the bridge El Colgante.
The other side of the bridge is quite tricky to climb. There are chains in places to help but, it's not for the faint hearted!
The track then follows the ridge upwards & across to a forestry track.
This leads back to the T junction at the start of the walk.
The GPS at the start of this hike was not reading correctly so, add 500 to 600 m.
Also on the way back from Canaillas de Aceituno, the APP started doing strange things adding distance.
