Itinerary description
About 3.5 hours up the La Maroma route via the firebreak and El Fuerte way. This part is tough around 7kms steep uphill. We had our lunch break when we reached the top. On a clear day there would be views to Sierra Nevada. From this point we head right and away from La Maroma trail heading for the Tacita de Plata, it is now signposted. Fabulous views across to Malascamas from here and in the far distance our point of interest Llanadas. Llanadas is a wide green saddle and totally different landscape to our normal routes. We can look back over to the path that we had climbed up.
After Llanadas it is downhill through 4 by 4 track, firebreak and pine forrest. Passing an old refugio and ruined cortijo. Great views across to the Mountain ranges around Nerja and Competa.
All of the trails quite clear and have changes of terrain and scenery all along the way. We saw wild Ibex and horses. Take plenty of water as the sources do not state if drinkable or not.
This trail is moderate difficult due to initial ascent which I found tough towards the end.
