Itinerary description
This track starts at the school hut of the Junior College in Reykjavík; Menntaskólasetrið. It leads up the valley Grensdalur, where there are numerous hot springs, mud puds and colorful precipitation in the soil. The track is sometimes difficult to follow. In the end of the valley there is a way over a small ridge over to the neighbor valley, Reykjadalur. The two valleys both have beautiful geothermal pools and hot springs. However, whereas Grensdalur is untouched, Reykjadalur has broad marked paths and therefor very accessible. Reykjadalur has become very popular and there are always many people there hiking.

How hot do you think the water is? Don't test it! This spring is an outlet for hot water from the ground.
