Itinerary description
This is a wonderful walk around the two rivers in this valley, the Riu de Sella and the Riu de L' Arc that come together at L' Assut del Salt (see wayponit).
The official route is only 6,3 kilometres but, almost at the end, from the bridge across the Sella we took an additional track alongside the river, which you will have to cross several times and which will lead you to the Font Major close to the Zona d' Acampanada.
The second reason our walk is longer is that we went up to the Ermita de Santa Barbera from which place you have a wonderful view.
From the start of the walk at the parking next to the cemetary you will follow a small road which will lead you down to the river and when you get to it you will see the first signpost of the SL - CV 112 with its white/green markings.
The first font you will see is the Font de L' Alcantera, for which you have to go down from the road.
When the road becomes a dirt road you will walk along a very nice part of the track leading you past several houses down to some reservoirs at the L' Assut del Salt where the two rivers come together.
From this idyllic place you will go up to the road again, cross it and walk alongside canalized water streams to the bridge.
Here we took the small track towards the Pont Antic and followed the Sella along a narrow, sometimes really muddy track, crossing the Sella quite a few times.
The only place where we had to be careful and had to use our hands to scramble up and down the boulders was at the waterfall.
From now on you do not have to cross the river anymore, you will pas a big pool where we saw people swimming and from there the track goes up again.
When you get to a mast with solar panels you should look for old stepping stoones above the river.
From the Zone d'Acampada you will get to the road again and descend to Sella and if you wish up to the Ermita.

Prachtige wandeling.
