Itinerary description
We started this walk in the small but picturesque port of La Duquesa and from there followed the coastal path to Punta de la Chullera.
After the first stretch of a promenade that is well taken care of you arrive at the hamlet of Castillo la Duquesa with its castle.
From then on the the path loses some of its lustre also because the noisy A-7 is getting closer and closer and there are no residential areas here to protect you from the noise.
After La Paloma we went up to the A-7 and walked along it towards Punta de la Chullera but it is completely unnecessary to do this as it does not really contribute to the view.
From Punta de la Chullera you will have a nice view of the Rock of Gibraltar and Morocco and at this point we stopped for a while before turning around we sat and watched the cormorants and enjoyed the view and the peace and quiet of the place.
The way back to La Duquesa is the more scenic part of the walk as you will see the Sierra Crestellina and the higher Sierra Bermeja as well as the outline of Estepona and Marbella with the Sierra de las Nieves high above it.
Arriving at the Castillo of La Duquesa again we found it open and took the opportunity and walked inside to have a look around.
