Las Millanas – Loma de Tolox
This walk is really a (BTT) bike route, starting on the outskirts of Tolox.
Parking shouldn’t be a problem.
It uses minor roads and concrete tracks. There are 2 small sections where you have to go onto the main A366 road.
The route crosses over the Horcajos river and meanders into Las Millanas area, eventually crossing over the Rio Grande river, then going through a valley with lots of orange groves and allotments and several goat farms.
Eventually you arrive at metal bridge crossing over the Rio Grande. (Not on the map), Then turning left onto the main road again.
Stay on the main road for about ½ km until you get to the restaurant Rio Grande (which has been closed for many years).
Turn right to pick up Camino Nuevo which goes through La Loma de Tolox valley, eventually arriving back at the starting point.
It’s a long walk, surprisingly peaceful and not a lot of traffic on this route. There are some great panoramic views on this walk.
