Sendero Cerralba – Zalea
This walk is based on the Sendero SL - A 212 that joins the two villages of Pizarra, Cerralba and Zalea, located on both sides of the Casarabonela stream.
From the parking area on the outskirts of Cerralba and more or less adjacent to the BP petrol station, take the back road Camino de Gibralgalia until it meets up with Calle Tango which is next to a park.
This is where you will find an information board and is the start of the walk.
The first 1km of the walk is on a road, not that busy but take care, then you take a right onto a country lane where you will pass an abandoned Cortijo on your right and orchards on your left.
At 1.25km you will to cross over a stream. There stepping stones.
The route then goes onto the Pista Confederacion.
The official walk ends on the outskirts of Zalea on the A354.
It’s a small village where you could go exploring to find a bar for some refreshments.
I added an extension to this walk to make it circular.
There are lovely views of Pizarra and countryside with plenty of lemon and orange groves.
The walk is mainly flat and very little shade.
