Sendero Chiribenitez, Guaro
Also known as the PR-A 279, but has been delisted for some reason.
This is the first walk I ever did with Wikiloc in 2017. I didn’t know how to use the App then.
I wanted to catch the almond blossom, so this was a good opportunity to redo the walk with waypoints and photos.
Starting off there is a gradual descent until you crossover the Arroyo Hondo, before starting the climb.
I found big sections of paths going up in a bad state of repair.
Next you crossover Arroyo Seco, passing some old wrecks before getting a Puerto (forgotten its name) / Intersection. This is a good spot for a break, where you have nice views of the Sierra de las Nieves, Yunquera and Alozania.
From here the return journey I found more pleasant and scenic.
You cross over several more streams – Arroyo Pedigrón and Arroyo Gaimón, before starting the second uphill climb back to Guaro.
It’s a very peaceful walk, medium – hard because of the 2 climbs.
After rains you might get your feet wet and there will be some muddy sections.
