Sendero Circular Pico de Huma PR-A 390
This walk starts from the Haza del Río car park, about 1.5km from the El Chorro train station.
Heading towards Valle del Abdalajis you pass several roman tombs on your left. Veering left you eventually pass through a gated farm *gates were open at both ends and the directional posts were missing, as was some of the path).
Going around the back of Huma you get a different perspective of the surrounding area. Looking towards Antequera you can see in the distance the Peñón de los Enamorados.
Arriving at an intersection you pass the barrier and start to go gently uphill. There is one section where the path has been washed away (stay left making your way going up instead of down).
Eventually you get to the post where you turn off for the ascent. To get to the summit takes about 40 minutes. We had a small break before going up. Surprisingly it wasn’t as hard as I imagined.
After coming back down the last section back to the car park is a bit more challenging until you get into the woods.
Overall it was a great hike (medium – hard) with spectacular views.
