Sendero de los Genoveses
This linear walk starts on the outskirts of San José, a small village 20 minutes from Cabo de Gata. There is a small area of off road parking on Camino de Monsul, just before the main roundabout.
At the entrance of the ALP-901 there is a control booth that will take 6 euros only for cars to park at the designated beach car parks.
The official start of the walk is about 400m away. Here you will find the Molino del Collado de los Genoveses (which is worth a closer look).
From here you pass the Campillo de Genovés area, carrying on until you get to an underground bunker, and then make your way to the beach passing sand dunes to your right.
Eventually you will arrive at a large limestone fossil – Duna Fosil de los Genoveses. Climb over this and carry on along the beach until you arrive at the fin de sendero sign. Return the same way you came.
