Sendero Cerro del Calvario – El Capellan – Rio Turón
This is a lovely walk that starts in the upper end of the village passing the Iglesia de los Remedios church and the Ardales Castle, and going up to the Calvario shrine.
From here you head up to El Capellan with amazing views all around. You pass by the Tajo Canana where you will probably see some Griffon vultures circling high above.
Turning right and heading into the valley you will eventually see the Turón castle way up above.
You will come to a small bridge crossing over the river Turón and turning right heading back towards Ardales with the river on your right.
Eventually you will arrive at the roman bridge – Puente de la Molina.
From here it’s a stones throw back to the village and to one of the bars in the square, where you can watch the world go by.
This is a really nice walk that I will definitely do again.
