Sendero El Tesorillo, Benamahoma
This is part of a trilogy of walks that start from the Los Llanos del Campo recreation area, just on the outskirts of Benamahoma.
They are all short and scenic walks and can be all done in one morning or afternoon. The recreation area has a large off road car park, and there are also lots f picnic tables scattered about, so you can enjoy a break after the walks.
It is a 15 minute drive from Grazalema and the car park is on your right adjacent to Km37.
After passing the gate in the Los Llanos recreation area, take the thin path slightly to your right where you will see an information board in the distance. This is where the walk starts going past the gate. There is a bit of up at the start of this route.
The vegetation in his area is especially lush with enormous Holm oaks and century old Gall oaks which offer plenty of shade. Next you come to a few abandoned buildings and a giant fallen tree slightly blocking the path. At the intersection you continue left going downhill on a stony medieval path that is said to have been used by travellers between Benamahoma and Grazalema. With the path veering right you eventually meet a signpost pointing you back to the recreation area and car park.
A short walk with a bit of up and down, in a lovely shaded part of this nature park.
