Sendero Puerto de las Presillas Circular, Grazalema
This is really a linear route but by returning on the Charcones Sendero (also linear), the route becomes circular which is much nicer.
This walk starts from the car park adjacent the camping Tajo Rodillo. Most of the route is very rocky and there is a lot of climbing up stone steps. Initially on your right you have the majestic Peñón Grande.
Very soon you pass the Era de Trillo, where wheat, oat, and chickpea grain was separated from the chaff until the mid 20th century.
Next you will pass an animal pen and watering hole for the sheep, goats and cattle that graze on this land. You eventually go through another gate.
Continue uphill until you get to Puerto de las Presillas where there is an old Ice Well. It is very rocky and stony. There are trees scattered about in places. The whole area is a karstic landscape with limestone rocks.
Eventually you start going downhill towards Puerto del Boyar (which has a Mirador about 70m away).
Passing the gate then turn right onto Sendero Camino de los Charcones, which is a very pleasant route.
At the end of this Sendero crossover the road and pick up the pavement (which is being repaired at the moment), so you have to stay on the main road for a minute before you get back to the car park.
It’s an interesting walk only a 2 minute drive from Grazalema pueblo.

This is the second time I've followed this route. It's really enjoyable with a mix of scenery. The climbing was relatively easy, and the plateau at the top ideal for a picnic stop. The descent around the other side of the crag was a joy as the views were different to the ascent looking into another valley, and the final leg through the woods an easy way to finish. Thanks for taking the effort to share such a good route!
