Sendero Virgen de las Nieves (SL-A 238)

This walk starts on the outskirts of Tolox. The best option for parking is on Avenida de Balneario. Then walk through the village to Plaza Alta and then pick up Calle Ancha, which will take you to the official start of the walk.

It is a linear walk to the shrine, but I added part of sendero 229 to make the walk slightly circular and more interesting.
The river Horcajos is always nearby and it’s nice to hear the ripple of the water in various places.
You pass some old water mills and several allotments with citrus fruits and avocados. This area and valley of the Sierra de las Nieves is very peaceful apart from the friendly dogs at one of the ruins of an old mill.

Arriving at the shrine the surrounding area has picnic tables and is well shaded by trees.
