Itinerary description

This is a wonderful hike one-way with train return.

Park at Mandello del Lario train station. Now, do not take the train but instead start your journey following the GPS track. You'll have few km of town to hike, than the first label "Sentiero del Viandante" will appear. Now... The road is straight on!

To stop for a break, this GPS track goes down to Lierna instead of the official road. Here, other than few bars, you can hike along the river of the Como lake and see wonderful town seesights!

Now, a steep hike will bring you back again on track and, once reach the top, the journey is mostly flat till the end.

The journey ends after 20km at Varenna where you can eat, drink and, when ready, took a train back to Mandello. The trains as of 2022 costs 2.2 euros, and there's one every 30/40 minutes more or less (Trenord/Trenitalia)
