Itinerary description
The sun was hot. I must confess that the first 6 km felt somehow disappointing, even depressing. At the beginning, the trail had no beautiful landscapes to offer and after a while, when it opened to some desolate burnt out mountain hills, melancholia was in the air. Fortunately, there where 8 more kilometers to go which proved very rewarding.
Suddenly, out of the blue, there it was the most charming little river protected by a magnificent vegetation, where I took a bath, lunched and read among beautiful dragonflies, birds, frogs and water striders. It felt simply wonderful. Latter, I said goodby to my new friends and moved on still inside the forest for a while, before reaching the part that really felt like being on the mountain, where the mighty granite blocks where now the true masters of the universe. Nice wide landscapes were finally starting to show up and not very long after I found myself walking over a beautiful plateau. Around the last 4 km it went steep down the slope which made me eager come back again and try this trail CCW. Before arriving at my destination the trail took me through a creepy burnt out small pinewood.
I didn't see many animals along the way. To join my river friends, there were some other insects, a spider, a few wall lizards and a bigger lizard. The vegetation was generally sparse without great variation. All in all a worthwhile hiking day.
