This walk starts adjacent Casa Peon on the A7078.
The easiest way to get there is to get onto the A357 and take the turn off that says Alora Norte between Km 35 and Km 37 onto the MA441. Carry on up this road until you get to a main junction and turn left onto the A7078 (towards Carratraca). The walk starts between Km7 and Km8
This is a circular walk in the Sierra Aguas that goes upto the Parque Eolico (wind farm).
The main path is wide and in very good condition. When you get behind the Sierra it was much colder and windy (February).
There are numerous pine trees and we came across processionary caterpillars near the turbines only.
Approximately a third of the way up you can take a path on your left, with the wind turbines in front of you, so you can make the walk shorter if you like.
The return path is slightly hidden, steeper and narrow. You will pass on old wreck in the middle of nowhere which is interesting.
At the bottom you cross a stream. There is also an opening to a mine (I think), and a little further on your right there is a small pool and waterfall - Cascada del Sapo.
Apart from the noise of the turbines and the planes being on the flight path to Malaga it was a very peaceful area. There are some stunning views on this walk. Well worth the effort.
