Itinerary description
This is a beautiful walk in the Sierra Bernia with lots of panoramic views.
The walk is relatively easy, for a great part along a broad track (mountainbike route) and along well trodden narrower tracks.
The first part of the walk is mainly downhill, from 620 to 440 metres along a very nice track through wooded area and low vegetation after which you will reach a broad mountainbike track that goes up and down past several houses forming the hamlet of Marnes.
On reaching the road, you will follow the road to the south and shortly before the hamlet of Escoles turn sharply to the left, taking a narrow track through low vegetation that will take you eventually back to the road again.
From here on follow the road to the second bend and on reaching the long white wall take the track, hardly visible, immediately to the left of it.
From here on you will gradually go up again with marvellous extensive views to the left and the right, Penyon de Ifach, Morro de Toix, Sierra d'Olta, the ruins of El Castellet, with the immensely imposing Bernia ridge right in front of you.
Do not forget to look back regularly as the view behind you is just as impressive. The coastline to Cap d'Or, the Cumbre del Sol ridge, the Montgo, the Penyes Blanques above Jalón, the Val de Laguar ridge and much more.... The range of views is enormous on this walk.
