Itinerary description
Sierra Carbonera is a hill very close to La Línea de la Concepción and it rises to a maximum altitude of 311 metres. This is an easy hike which gives you amazing views to Gibraltar, Costal del Sol up to Málaga, Bay of Algeciras and on a clear day Ceuta and Morocco.
The Sierra was originally covered with trees but these have been clear-cut, leaving the slopes denuded, due to large-scale logging for charcoal production. The name Carbonera reflects this former industry.
