Sierra de Mijas Circuit
This walk starts from the Puerto de los Pescadores near the BP petrol station on the outskirts of Alhaurin el Grande. There is parking at the start.
You take a lovely path on the woods until you turn into the arroyo del Tejar. Keep going up until you get to another hidden path on your left.
Eventually you come out at a junction where you stay on the right (part of the Alhaurin el Grande blue route).
Keep going until you get to Puerto de la Encina where the path veers to the right.
Keep going until you pick up the Pista Sur Camino forestal track, which now starts a gradual descent, passing two Miradors – Cañada Gertrudis and Cañada Morena.
Eventually near AltaVista you turn sharp right onto the last section which brings you back to the parking area.
This is a long hike of nearly 24Km capturing the essence of the Sierra de Mijas with beautiful trees and panoramic views.
After the walk, la Ventilla is a nice place for food and drink (adjacent the petrol station).
