Sillón del Rey - Mirador de Los Tres Embalses
This walk goes to the Islet hill between the reservoir Guadalteba (left) and the reservoir Guadalhorce (right), starting from El Sillón del Rey (The king’s seat), which is just past El Kiosko restaurant.
You follow the road passing two of the dam walls and then you turn right and follow the route that follows the contours of the reservoir. Eventually turning left you climb up some railway sleepers steps (that have mostly rotted away).
Then there is a little uphill climb on your left adjacent to the road that will eventually bring you to the Mirador de Los Tres Embalses (The Mirador of the 3 reservoirs). The views from here are some of the best in the area. This is also a great picnic spot (but only has room for several people, so I would avoid the weekends).
The path back goes down the steps to pick up the MA 9006 road which you follow back to the start of the walk.
To get to Gobantes pass Ardales and head towards El Chorro and the lakes.
Pass the Mirador restaurant and park anywhere near El Kiosko restaurant.
