Itinerary description
The trail starts off in Sitges Camping, and crosses all the way through the town before eventually getting to the Garaff national park. We started off a bit too late (turned out to be a problem because of the heat) and were doing the trail on a workday, which you should avoid for a couple of reasons: almost nothing is open on a workday, including the monastery and a couple of shops and reastaurants in the nearby town. This leads to a scarcity of water sources on this very long and hot trail, with little shade. Another potential problem is doing it during the summer as we did (in june), we would reccomend spring or a colder, cloudier day for sure. We got lucky and La Fassina was open, which gave us a chance to refill our bottles. That being said, the trail, even though it has very little shade, features amazing mediterranean-type vegetation, with pine and wild rosmary scents following you all the way through. Most of the trail follows a car dirt road, except for the part from the Monastery to Garraf which is a very rocky and inteseting forest walk. All in all an interesting and challenging experience for us.
