Itinerary description
A 2/3 hours signposted walk with a spectacular descent, leading along an easy path following the river and concluding with a final ascend back to Siurana.
The walk starts at the main car park in before entering Siurana (look out for the signpost). It leads along a steep ridge (not for those suffering vertigo) before descending towards the Barranc de l'Estopinya. This section could be problematic without a pair of good walking boots as the path is steep with loose stones and soil. Once you get to the bottom look out of the sign pointing towards the Embassament de Siurana. This is an easy, levelled walk , following the perimeter of the southern flank of the rock on which Siurana is built. About 40 minutes later look out on your right for another sign pointing to a path leading upwards back to Siurana. The path follows the original route partially dug in to the rock to help the pack mules to keep their foothold as they made their way up to the village. Once again, as you move up, you are met with spectacular views of the Monsant moving in and out of pockets of fragrant woodland.
The path ends in front of the entrance to the village with the walk on the left taking you back to the car park.
