CATALAN VERSION
Preciosa.
Circular trail around Skaftalfellsheidi area (not climbing the most important peak of it, Kristinartindar). It follows the trails marked by the National Park of Vatnajökulspjógardur as S2 (until Sjónarsker), S3 from that point, and from Sjónarnipa view point, as S5.
Even it is a long route it has no difficulty and you can enjoy an awsome trekking day, with the spectacular views over the mentioned peak of Kristinartindar, and over the wonderful glaciar tongues of Morsájökull, and specially, the one over Skaftafellsjökull (really stunning).
You departure from the tourist information point of Skaftafell following the crowded path to Svartifoss. Before that one we can see another waterfall, but it's totally eclipsed by the basaltic beauty of Svartifoss. Wonderful!
From the waterfall we follow the S2 route to Sjónarsker (from where we will enjoy of an absolute wonderful solitary atmosphere), where we can find a dial view. From there begins a soft rise that will increase going up the Skeróll point. From that point the route becomes a flat and pleasant walking.
First we enjoy the panoramic views of Morsárdalur area, where flows the river coming from the Morsárjökull glaciar tongue. A bit away we reach the point known as Nydrihnaukur, where, if we walk a bit more, we can see spectacular views over the frozen waterfalls of the Morsárjökull glaciar.
From there we make a round to Kristinartindar summit, where we could go up by the trails we cross along its foot.
Once all the round path done we arrive at the most spectacular area of that route. From Gláma until Sjónarnipa points of view we will enjoy, in very pleasant and quite decreasing, of astonishing views over the complete glaciar tongue of Skaftafellsjöjull. It's well worth walking there quietly, stopping, taking pictures or just relaxing and enjoying the spectacular views. Awsome!
From the last view point we choose to go back to the tourist point of Skaftafell through the S5 route, the closest to the glaciar tongue, that decreases quickly but with no problems to the starting point.

We followed the same route, but in counterclockwise direction. The walk offers spectacular scenery, even when the weather is not at its best. Thanks for sharing :)
NATASA: Thanks for giving your opinion about the route! As you say, the views during all the excursion are astonishing, specially the ones of the glacier. The weather... well, you know how it is in Iceland! Even that, you did it, like an icelandic!
