SL-A 207 Circular Escalera Árabe
This circular walk starts from the Haza del Rio parking area. There are some information boards at the start and a great view of Huma.
The route passes two abandoned mines and a quarry before going into woodlands, where there is also an old threshing field. The path then goes around a large meadow / field. The path here sometimes splits into several branches, but they seem to merge again.
As you start to veer left at the big rock peak in front of you the trail starts to descent and leads to the start of the Arab steps. The origins of these steps seem to be a mystery.
Half way down, there are some good spots to sit and take in the wonderful views.
At the bottom of the Arab steps the main path splits but merges again, but finally arrives back to a substantial track.
This is a lovely sendero. Not overly hard. It is without the hustle and bustle of the Caminito del Rey. It’s a good alternative option when the King’s walk is closed on a Monday.
