Slovak Paradise exploration hike

Wow, what a an amazing experience and pleasure to hike next to these gorges and up and down the canyons. Something completely different than high mountain and very gorgeous. I recommend it 1000%! Just note that due to bad reception some recordings are bad and not very useful so refer to names/colors of trails.

So we drove the car into the parking lot of the Suchá Belá canyon but had to park it a bit far away for free parking. We went all the way up the canyon and found the trail on Maly Kysel' and continued onto Kysel' canyons but we didn't go past the Barikadovy waterfall because the trail was closed (also, need via ferrata equipment) going that direction. But I gotta say, this is my favorite part of the whole hike. Super romantic place with the wooden ladders and cascades and waterfalls. Amazing. Then we went back up and retook the blue trail that leads to the Klaštorisco convent which is really cool and has an interesting story! They've built a hut in the middle of it so locals can stay and be fed for free if they help rebuild it. So cool!

We then took the green trail going northwest and here, my hiking buddy went back to Hrabušice for the car and I continued exploring other areas. You can see I went back up the green trail. After that I continued on the yellow to meet the Hornád river/canyon (blue trail). And then eventually went up a green trail to the Spišské Tomášhovský viewpoint and it was worth it, seeing the Biely canyon ahead and the high tatras north. Just wow! Then headed back to the village I was staying at. Even this part gave great views of the high tatras to the left.

Definitely recommend it and also, need good and waterproof shoes/boots! I can definitely say I would be overwhelmed with and avoid the tourists in the summer 😂
