Itinerary description
Nice tour near Sognefjellet area with amazing views to glaciers all around, while visiting two national parks (Breheimen & Jotunheimen). This hike mainly follows well marked routes and is not physically demanding, but even in summer there are some technically challenging parts. The Northern part (above rv55) has many snow field crossings and some boulder fields, while in the Southern part, there is a really steep decent from the glacier tip (do not attempt this in wet conditions). Depending on your agility and weather conditions you can make a safer return by cutting the Southern loop short by following the marked trail at Bøvervatnet (keep left from where this track forks) or go from Sogneffjel hut directly to Krossbu hut.
This tour starts at th Krossbu hut, but could also start at the Sognefjellet hut. Recommended direction is counter clockwise.
