Itinerary description
Note that there is an entrance fee to enter Jonkershoek Nature reserve, wildcards don't pay but, at the time of writing, you will need to show your wildcard confirmation email or log into the wildcard website to prove that your membership is active as they don't accept just the cards anymore. You will also need to show ID with your wildcard. The Trail starts at the Swartboskloof parking area in the reserve. It follows the same initial route as Swartboskloof but then splits to the right after the first large rock scree. The trail then follows a contour through Fynbos and Forest patches. There are areas to refill water. This trail is very beautiful, vista's and flowers are plentiful and it is also less trafficked than the more popular Waterfall routes. The trail can be exposed to the sun and might be very warm on hot days so be sure to take sunblock. Keep an eye out for Black Eagles and Cape Rock jumpers, we sighted both but couldn't capture a picture in time.
