Itinerary description
Sotres to Pico de Urriellu and back. The day I did it was very foggy for much of the walk. It cleared for a few minutes for very impressive views of the Naranjo de Bulnes (aka Pico de Urriellu). Intermittment views suggested beautiful views on a clear day along the route.
Signposting is good with no navigational issues and no real exposures. The walk starts by heading downhill on the road out of Sotres back towards Tieve. After about 500m, at the hairpin turn in the road, one heads off the road onto the unpaved road up the valley (towards Invernales de Texu. A short while later, arrows show the path splitting between Pico Urriellu and Espinama.
I considered going back from the Naranjo through Bulnes but the refugio indicated that this was very steep and required use of a rope so I retraced my steps.
