Itinerary description
The walk starts in the Invernales del Texu below the village of Sotres. It can get quite busy as many walks begin here. The first part of the walk is all uphill reaching its highest over Vega les Cuerres. It is possible to drive up to Mortorio on fairly rough track. From here you walk towards the Terenosa refuge. The vista really starts to open up with Naranjo de Bulnes coming into view. Drop down below the refuge towards some ruined invernales that are fascinating to explore. Keep your eyes open for the route through the wood, it's easy to miss. Head up to Arnandes which is a mixture of used and unused buildings. From just above here there are spectacular views of Naranjo de Bulnes round to El Castillo, the upper part of Bulnes. Head back on what are fairly vague paths to begin with but you soon join the main path heading to Bulnes. As ever in the Picos, flora and fauna abound.
