Itinerary description
This is the way followed by near to half million exiled persons at the end of the Spanish Civil world in 1939. Sorrowed defeated Republican army, men, women and children crossed the line in a freezing winter without hope, only waiting for a little charm in the neighbour country. To arrive La Vajol there is a public bus service in La Jonquera: (www.davidimanel.com), where you can visit the MUME museum. It is only possible to arrive to the near village of Agullana and complete the way on foot (6 km).
You can stay in La Jonquera in A-7 route, where you can arrive by bus from Figueres train station. There are six hostels (http://www.booking.com/city/es/la-jonquera.ca.html). There is also possible follow trip to Agullana ( 2 hotels) or to find a cheap hostel in La Vajol (http://ca.lavajol.cat/turisme/allotjament/refugis/alberg-refugi-de-la-vajol/).
