Itinerary description

On this trail you will first pass some bodegas (wineries) until you arrive at the crater of vulcano Bandama. Here, the volcanic past of Gran Canaria is still almost visible. About halfway down the crater, there is a viewing platform. At the bottom are old ruins. Walking down into the caldera of Bandama (literally "cooking pot of Bandama", = the crater) and then up again ist the difficult part of the walk. The last section leads you around the caldera on the narrow path at the top of the crater.
Staring point is the bus stop in El Arco. Bus 311 from central bus station San Telmo in Las Palmas brings you to El Arco. Final stop of the route is the bus stop in Bandama. The same bus (#311) goes back to Las Palmas.
