Itinerary description
A varied walk out the back of the thermal baths through woodland until you emerge on the valley track to the village on Planes on the plateau above the valley.
BUT look out for the righthand turn directly uphill after about 20 mins up, don't follow the track all the way to the head of the St Thomas valley, it is a dead end. Lunch at the village church then descend towards the Traine Jaune railway station and traverse broadly around the hill to return to the thermal baths. Great track close to the narrow gauge railway line, and views of the Gisclard suspension bridge. There are two return tracks , they both take you back to the start point.
