Itinerary description

This popular trail leads to several bluffs with spectacular views over Samsun Narrows to Saltspring Island and southward over the Saanich peninsula to the San Juan Islands.

The forest here is lovely with hanging fern gardens, firs, arbutus trees (some are huge!) and gary oak. The geology is also prominent, with deep glacial striations carved into fluvial conglomerate rock.

There are a few hills, none very steep and the hike mostly rolls along over gentle elevation change. There is a pit toilet at the trailhead.

The Retreads Hiking Club gives this hike an AVA rating of 2B.
