• Ascent to the Briksdal glacier, arm or tongue of the great Jostedal glacier.
• Accesses: From Stryn (municipality of Norway) to 17 km, in Olden, diverted by the Fv724 and 22 km, the parking area is located.
• On our trip this summer in Norway, we had the opportunity to get close to one of the languages of the most extensive glacier in the continent (it is more than 60 km long and in some places more than 500 m thick). This arm, although in recent years, has lost many meters of ice, its environment is still wonderful and we have seen this walk.
• From the access area, we start by the signposted path that ascends along the right bank of the river, which carries a large amount of water. In less than a kilometer we come to a bridge that crosses the whitewater next to a large waterfall. We ascend the path with steps and in the high part we reach another bridge, from where we can already see the tongue of the glacier and from where a path ascends to the top of the glacier.
A little further on we pass by a picnic area and then by a roundabout that forms the path, limit for authorized vehicles. Already on the way only for walkers in less than another kilometer we arrive at the impressive place that is formed, with the magnificent panoramic of the glacier, the water and the lake.
• After approaching the maximum allowed, in the return, along the same path, we have continued enjoying each of the points outlined, until the end of the path.
• The realization of the route has no complication and it has seemed easy, the unevenness and distance are not excessive and if the weather is good it is a pleasant walk.
• For its development, we have counted on the information provided by the group's guide, however we have also used some references that we have obtained in Wikiloc.
